Surffilm um eine Mädchenclique zwischen dem Thrill des Sports und der Emotion von Selbstfindung und Liebesgeschichte.
Gemeinsam mit ihren Freundinnen Eden (Michelle Rodriguez) und Lena (Sanoe Lake) wohnt Anne Marie (Kate Bosworth) in einer Strandhütte auf Hawaii und investiert das Geld, dass sie sich als Zimmermädchen im Hotel verdient, komplett in ihre einzige große Leidenschaft: das Surfen. Als der charmante Profi-Footballspieler Matt (Matthew Davis) auf der Bildfläche erscheint, kommt eine weitere hinzu: die Liebe. Anne Maries Freundinnen sind nicht begeistert, steht doch ein alle Konzentration erforderndes Turnier vor der Tür.Surffilm (nicht nur) für Mädchen, von Regisseur John Stockwell ("Verrückt/Schön") mit zahlreichen aufregenden Sportszenen heiter-romantisch in Szene gesetzt.
